(short review)

My experience at the Hilton was solid. The rooms were fine, view was fine, staff was fine, food was fine, location was great, overall not much to really pick on.

Qingnian Avenue view

However, the lounge experience was not up to par whatsoever mainly due to the hands-off (or “reactive”) service. We went for happy hour twice and not once were our empty plates cleared during the 4 hours we spent there across two visits. The lounge was not busy during our visits – in fact, the staff spent lots of time chatting, being on their phone, or simply nowhere to be found, and it was not uncommon for the drink trays to be empty or wine bottles to sit empty for long periods. Bottom line – for the price this hotel sells for, the hard product is adequate, but there are definitely better options in town.
