(short review)

Although not exactly an airport hotel, the Crowne Plaza Huadu was one of the more reliable option near Guangzhou airport in my opinion. The rooms were newer and clean, the service was great at the front desk, concierge and the restaurant.

Welcome fruit plate, the pear was great

The hotel did offer shuttles to and from the airport, although the hours were not super convenient especially for late night arrivals, and getting there was a pain since most taxi drivers hate shorter fares from the airport. I ended up offering a slight tip to get a taxi. I booked the shuttle back on my departure, however the bus left a couple minutes early and did not wait for me. The concierge team however went above and beyond and drove me to the airport in their VIP van, which more than made up for the hiccup, given the fact that there was a subway station right in front of the hotel.

Big window but meh view

Huadu was not exactly an interesting area for tourists or visitors, so I mostly treated this place as an airport hotel when I booked, and it was more than adequate for that purpose. However, its location may not be the best for anyone visiting elsewhere in Guangzhou.
