Fairfield, but good

Being a Fairfield the expectations were low, but the Fairfield at YOW for sure blew me away from check-in to check-out.

The arrival experience was great even though I checked in very early. Chris greeted me at check-in. He was extremely eager and energetic, while very informative and knowledgeable. He was also able to find me an upgraded studio which was very much appreciated. In fact, everyone I encountered at the front desk was genuinely curious in making my experience a better one – from Chris himself to the overnight team who went out of the way to get me something to eat when I checked out at 5am, and even the guys who cracked some really good jokes when I was buying stuff from the market – I was truly impressed by how much everyone cared especially for an airport hotel.

Breakfast to-go, reminded me of junior high school but absolutely better than nothing

The studio suite was another surprise as well. The word “massive” would be an understatement, and couple that with a tall ceiling, it felt extra roomy. Everything was designed to be functional and efficient, and featured Fairfield’s new standard design which was so much more attractive than the old one.

Room overview

I originally thought the location was going to be mostly inaccessible without a car like most airport hotels, but I was thankfully very wrong. Not only did taxis show up very quickly, the 97 bus had a stop a block away providing easy access to the city as well as the airport. The bus/shuttle ride to the airport was barely 2 minutes.

Thinking back I’m very happy with my experience here. Like I mentioned expectations were low, and it turned out amazing, not only because of the hard product, but more importantly the people as well. I don’t think I will even blink twice before booking here for my next YOW visit.
