My trip to Luoyang was very much unexpected so I did not have time to shop around for hotels. When I saw this place on my IHG app I was relieved since I know what to expect at a HIX property. Indeed, everything was great. The hotel was centrally located, our room and public areas were very much standardized and as expected. Service was absolutely awesome. From check-in I could tell the lady at the front desk genuinely enjoyed her job, and we had a great conversation. When I realized the beds were too small for us all I went back to the front desk, and the same lady immediately apologized (even though it was not hers or the hotel’s fault at all) and promised to send a houseperson with a cot free of charge. Not even 5 minutes later a lovely lady showed up with a cot and started to set everything up for us. In the meantime she answered a lot of questions we had about the city, and basically became our concierge and planned our whole trip squeezing tourism activities into our tight schedule. It was absolutely the people at this hotel that made the experience stand out for me.
