This is not my first Moxy experience and I knew what to expect – a basic but well-designed room, vibrant and lively public areas, and laid-back (in a good way) service. I am happy to report that Moxy Boston met those expectations perfectly.
After a 10-hour drive from Canada, I was happy (and relieved) to be able to leave my car with valet, at a premium of $60 of course, but it did save me the hassle of looping around Boston after a long road trip. Tatianna welcomed me at check in and she was ready for me on mobile check-in with a big smile. She also did a great job pronouncing my name – always a bonus!
The room had a great view, and was what I expected amenity-wise for a Moxy. I went out for a little walk later that night and found that the hotel’s location is better than I thought – very easy access to T stations and plenty of things to do in the area.
The next day when I checked out, Tatianna helped me again with check-out which was a breeze, and she also helped me with storing my luggage for the day. The doorman and valet gentleman were great as well upon my departure.
Now, the downsides – first of all, I have to say my room was on the smaller side even by Moxy standards – I was on my own so no big deal, but it would have been tight if I brought my partner with me. I did not find any kind of desk area either, and I could not find a comfortable place to set up the folding table they had in the room. In addition, I found the cleanliness in my room questionable, where I found random hair in the bathroom and sticky/stained walls. All around though I will say I enjoyed my experience here and I would come back if the price is right (next time without a car!)
